My son, Ned, had just celebrated his 10th birthday and we took off for Topeka, Ks. to meet our Canadian friend. The trip was rather long so we broke it up by visiting with my mother in Denver. Along the way, Ned took advantage of the long, straight streches of I-70 to practice his driving (steering) skills. We got to Topeka a bit early so we stopped by the military museum and wandered about looking at the various vehicles that were in different stages of restoration. I don't know who had the better time that day.
On our way back home, we stopped by the grave site of Dorice McKeeman who unfortunately left us at a very young age in an automobile accident while driving through Colorado with her grand-parents. Ms. McKeeman performed with our 5th Army show ACTION 69 & 70.
